In June last year, the friendly suburb of Whitebridge landed itself a brand-new coffee joint, Morning Market Coffee. Receiving nothing but rave reviews, the newbie on the hospitality scene opens their second café spot in the heart of Newcastle right next door to The Interchange located amongst the collective of businesses at The Store.

Once again, the new addition to Morning Market Coffee is brought to us by Newcastle-born and bred siblings, Tom and Nova. Wanting to expand on their offering and move into the Newcastle café scene, Morning Market Coffee Newcastle continues to focus on delicious treats, a simple yet delicious offering menu, and above all else, amazing coffee.

The modern industrial interiors have been in the works for over a year, with the team officially celebrating their opening a few short weeks ago on the 14^th of March 2022.

“So far, the response has been really great! We’re slowly seeing some regular faces every day and people starting to do their work from our beautiful space which we just love to see,” Nova shared.

Keeping in theme with the OG Whitebridge venue, Morning Market Coffee Newcastle continues with their pared-back industrial-like interiors complete with green accents throughout. Think opening shelving throughout, high warehouse-like ceilings, and exposed concrete; it’s everything and more you would want from an inner-city café spot.

Working once more with Sydney-based coffee roasters, Seven Miles, the Morning Market Coffee blend is The Cat’s Pyjamas.

“We believe it’s a fitting name because it really is the bee’s knees. Delicious both in black coffee but cuts through milk really nicely too.”

The food menu also mirrors what diners can expect from the Whitebridge venue, keeping it simple with a bunch of brekky classics like avocado toast, and toasties, as well as a range of delicious hot pies and rolls.

“There are vegetarian options to choose from as well as a range of gluten free treats; the lemon coconut cake is becoming a crowd favourite for everyone, not just the coeliacs!”

As always, the pastry cabinet is overflowing with goodies. From the ever-so-popular sweet options like almond croissants and canelés to the savoury favourites like the vegemite & cheese scrolls or tomato, basil & feta danish!

“We really wanted to focus on quick, simple food done well and we think that’s exactly what we’ve managed to do.”

Being situated so close to The Interchange with people commuting to and from work morning and afternoon, the team at Morning Market Coffee knows there is a good chance their regulars may be in a bit of a rush for their food and coffee goods.
