The people of Newcastle have been relishing the first stages of the Newcastle Ocean Baths upgrade since its reopening in December 2023, with the spruced up pool and promenade breathing new life into the much-loved historic site.
The City of Newcastle has now revealed the vision for the final phase of the upgrade, which focuses on refreshing the iconic Art Deco facade, as well as enhancing the upper promenade and surrounding areas.
The plans include upgraded pedestrian access from Shortland Esplanade to the front of the building, an expanded kiosk, change rooms with accessible amenities, and new shade structures and seating overlooking the Canoe Pool.
