Warm up with a drink in hand next to a toasty fireplace this winter

While Newcastle is blessed with one of the best climates in the country (if we do say so ourselves) with pretty mild winters, sometimes the chill gets the better of us. Getting out of the house on a cold night can be tough, but heading to a restaurant or a pub with a toasty fireplace makes it much easier to brave the cold.

Keep reading for our guide to Newcastle pubs and restaurants with fireplaces for when you next need warming up with a drink in hand.

The Albion Hotel

With an old-school pub feel and plenty to entice you through the door each week – think meal specials, trivia, and musical bingo – The Albion Hotel is a cosy watering hole in the heart of Wickham. Order a beer, tuck into a steak, and warm up by the fire when the chill hits.

Customs House Hotel

Customs House Hotel is a pub in a heritage-listed building – its architecture and furnishings certainly lend themselves well to cosying up by the fireplace with a glass of wine in winter. The pub has a new food menu coming in mid-July, so it’s the perfect excuse to head in and experience this stunning venue for yourself.

The Junction Hotel

Winter warmers are aplenty at The Junction Hotel. Mary Ellen Hotel

The Mary Ellen Hotel is a highlight for its delicious pub food, and when paired with the warmth of a fireplace, it’s a match made in heaven. The schnitzels here always hit the spot – head in on a Monday when they’re $18 and start the week off right.

Minmi Hotel
